研究者透過人際歷程訪談方式，蒐集來談者諮商初期抗拒的外顯行為、內隱反應、抗拒原因資料，以發現取向的重要事件研究法進行歸類和分析。

本研究共邀四組研究參與者，每組蒐錄一至四次的諮商暨訪談錄音帶共32份，共計分析七十九個抗拒段落。

根據研究結果有以下幾點發現：1.來談者諮商初期抗拒的外顯行為類型共八大類，依出現頻率分別為「遲疑停頓」(22.78%)、「否定回應」(18.99%)、「智性談話」(15.19%)、「澄清解釋」(13.92%)、「順應諮商師」(10.13%)、「沉默」(7.59%)、「疑惑反問」(6.33%)、「急切回應」(5.06%)等；2.來談者諮商初期抗拒的內隱反應類型共七大類，依出現頻率分別為「刻意逃避-減少焦慮」(26.58%)、「猜測質疑-震驚訝異」(16.46%)、「拒絕接受-不滿排拒」(16.46%)、「不被了解-沮喪挫折」(13.92%)、「感受壓迫-慌亂焦急」(11.39%)、「考量評估-猶豫矛盾」(10.13%)、「失去方向-不安困惑」(5.06%)等；3.來談者在諮商初期的抗拒原因類型共六大類，依出現頻率分別為「排拒諮商師說法」(27.85%)、「抗拒情緒表達」(25.32%)、「排拒諮商師引導」(22.78%)、「受制治療權力」(16.46%)、「疑惑諮商師方向」(5.06%)、「感受次文化差異」(2.53%)等；4.來談者常見抗拒行為反應組型共七類，分別為「排拒諮商師說法―猜測質疑-震驚訝異―遲疑停頓」、「排拒諮商師引導―拒絕接受-不滿排拒―否定回應」、「排拒諮商師引導―刻意逃避-減少焦慮―否定回應」、「抗拒情緒表達―刻意逃避-減少焦慮―智性談話」、「疑惑諮商師方向―失去方向-不安困惑―順應諮商師」、「受制治療權力―感受壓迫-慌亂焦急―急切回應」、「受制治療權力―拒絕接受-不滿排拒―急切回應」等；5.根據來談者抗拒情境脈絡綜合分析發現，來談者的抗拒是動態歷程，且具發展性、累加性、脈絡性及複雜性，它和來談者因素、諮商師因素及治療權力關係等有關。

最後，本研究根據以上的結果與發現，提供諮商實務工作者及未來研究者相關的建議。

AbstractThegoalofthestudywastounderstandtheclient’sresistantbehaviorsatinitialstageofcounseling.Theovertbehaviors,covertreactionsandreasonsofclients’resistancesattheinitialstageofcounselingwerecollectedthroughInterpersonalProcessRecall(IPR).DataobtainedinthisstudywascategorizedandanalyzedbyDiscoveryApproachResearchofsignificantevent.Theresearcherinvitedfourpairsofparticipantsandcollectedthirty-twotapesofthefirsttothefourthsessionsfromeachpair.Atleast,seventy-nineparagraphsofclient’sresistanceswereanalyzed.Theresultsindicatedthat(1)atinitialstageofcounseling,thereareeightcategoriesofovertbehaviorsinclient’sresistance,including“pause”(22.78%),“denial”(18.99%),“intellectualtalk”(15.19%),“clarification”(13.92%),“complywithcounselor”(10.13%),“silence”(7.59%),“askinreply”(6.33%),“eagerresponse”(5.06%);(2)atinitialstageofcounseling,therearesevencategoriesofcovertreactionsinclient’sresistance,including“attemptedavoidanceandreducetheanxiety”(26.58%),“suspectandshock”(16.46%),“rejectionanddiscontent”(16.46%),“uncomprehendedandfrustrated”(13.92%),“becompelledandhurry-scurry”(11.39%),“evaluatingandambivalent”(10.13%),“lossofdirectionandbeingconfused”(6.33%);(3)atinitialstageofcounseling,therearesixcategoriesofreasonsinclient’sresistance,including“rejectingcounselor’sstatement”(27.85%),“rejectingtoexpressselfemotion”(25.32%),“rejectingcounselor’sguidance”(22.78%),“becontrolledunderthepoweroftherapy”(16.46%),“beingconfusedwithcounselor’sdirections”(5.06%),“experiencedthedifferencesbetweensubcultures”(2.53%);(4)Therearesevencategoriesofresponseinclient’sresistance.Theyare“rejectcounselor’sstatement-suspectandshock-pause”,“rejectcounselor’sguidance-rejectionanddiscontent-deny”,“rejectcounselor’sguidance-attemptedavoidanceandreducetheanxiety-deny”,“rejecttoexpressselfemotion-attemptedavoidanceandreducetheanxiety-intellectualtalk”,“beingconfusedwithcounselor’sdirections-lossofdirectionandbeingconfused-complywithcounselor”,“experiencedthedifferentiationbetweensubcultures-becompelledandhurry-scurry-eagerresponse”,“experiencedthedifferentiationbetweensubcultures-rejectionanddiscontent-eagerresponse”;(5)clients’resistanceswasadynamicprocessandwasdevelopmental,accumulative,contextualandcomplex.Itrelatedwithclient’sfactors,counselor’sfactors,andthepowerbetweentherapeuticrelationshipsandsoon.Finally,accordingtotheconclusionsandfindings,thestudyprovidedsomesuggestionsforcounselorsandfutureresearchers.
