加入Instabase前，他成立了Cloudstitch，一間專營開發平台的公司，並帶領團隊參加YCombinator計畫、募集種子期投資和進行收購。

他同時經營Buttonjoy，一間「偶然的物聯網公司」作為他的個人專案。

Ted擁有麻省理工學院的資訊科學和人工智慧博士學位，專攻人工智慧學習與人機交互。

他也曾在麻省理工學院授課，出版兩本軟體開發相關書籍，並在BBN科技公司參與一項國防高等研究計畫署資助之研究計畫。
